Experimental devices with a secondary display are included in Asus’s ZenBook laptop line. With a secondary display on the back, the ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition maintains the tradition. The laptop was first revealed at CES 2022 and is now available for purchase.

The laptop boasts a 14-inch OLED screen, which gives it an advantage over other laptops on the market that use LCD displays. This is a 16:10 screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It has a reaction time of as little as 0.2ms and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.
It is a slim and light laptop with a thickness of 15.9mm and a weight of 1.4kg. The LED lit touchpad compensates for the loss of a Numpad, and the fingerprint sensor is built into the power button.
But it’s the auxiliary 3.5-inch OLED panel on the rear that actually sets it different from other laptops. The ZenVision smart display, as Asus puts it, can display a variety of animations, battery status, alerts, time and date, or any user-customizable text.

It has the newest and best gear under the hood, including Intel’s 12th Generation Core i9-12900H processor with integrated Iris Xe GPU. Up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD are available.
There are four USB C ports on the laptop, as well as a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, HDMI 2.0, a headphone connection, and an SD card reader. There is no information on battery capacity or longevity.
In the United States, the Asus ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition is already available for $1999.
