OPPO Announces Strategic Partnership in Mobile Imaging with Hasselblad

OPPO and Hasselblad have agreed to collaborate for three years on industry-leading camera technologies for OPPO’s flagship Find series.

The two brands will collaborate on Hasselblad Camera for Mobile, focusing on colour science breakthroughs to provide a better mobile photographic experience.

Since the merger of OPPO and OnePlus, the brands’ research and development resources have been pooled to increase efficiency and improve user experience.

OPPO is excited to expand the strategic collaboration to include both the OPPO and OnePlus brands, thanks to the image breakthroughs made possible by the OnePlus and Hasselblad alliance.

“Following the success of OnePlus and Hasselblad’s collaboration last year, we are thrilled to see the partnership enter a new level of development, allowing more users across the world to enjoy the famous Hasselblad mobile imaging experience,” Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer, stated.

“Camera colour performance has always been a priority for OPPO, and it’s in Hasselblad’s DNA.” He went on to say, “We’re pleased to be able to collaborate on the future of Hasselblad Camera for Mobile.”

The main goal of OPPO’s next-generation premium smartphone experience is to develop top-tier imaging technologies capable of providing a world-class mobile photographic experience.

Following the launch of OPPO’s first self-developed imaging NPU, the MariSilicon X, the company has teamed up with Hasselblad to deliver a world-class photography experience.

OPPO and Hasselblad will now collaborate on research and development to further create sophisticated imaging solutions, with the goal of giving users with more realistic colours and a more refined visual experience.

In its portrait photographs, OPPO employs Hasselblad’s Natural Color Calibration to produce the most natural skin tone possible.

The three-year agreement will improve the colour calibration solution and create a new benchmark for smartphone camera colour performance, starting with software advancements for natural colour tuning.

This is to ensure that OPPO phones deliver consistent natural colour performance in all lighting conditions and across the whole camera system.

The result of this partnership will be the “OPPO | Hasselblad Camera for Mobile,” which will launch in the first quarter of 2022 in the next edition of OPPO’s flagship Find X series.
