Oppo Launches A55s 5G With Mid-range Specs

Oppo has launched the A55s 5G, the latest smartphone in its A-series, with specs identical to the A55 but a few enhancements. The A55s 5G has only been released in Japan, and no information on a global release has been released.
It comes just days after the Oppo A95 was released in Malaysia.

Design & Display

The Oppo A55s 5G has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ resolution LCD with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz.

The smartphone is only 178 grammes and measures 162.1 x 74.7 x 8.20 mm (height x weight x thickness).

The A55s 5G is simple to use, lightweight, and comes in black or green. The smartphone is water and dust resistant, and the fingerprint sensor is located on the side.

Internals & Storage

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC powers the phone. The 5G capable processor is paired with 4 GB RAM and 64GB storage, with a MicroSD slot that allows you to expand it up to 1TB and a dual-SIM slot for nano-SIM cards.
The smartphone is powered by the Android-11-based ColorOS 11 skin, which allows the user to modify various functions.

The Oppo A55s 5G has a dual 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a secondary 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. Ultra Night mode is supported by the smartphone.

A punch-hole cutout in the front conceals an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Battery & Pricing

The Oppo A55s 5G has a huge 4,000 mAh battery that enables 18W fast charging through a USB-C connector and a supplied charger.

The smartphone has a starting price of $289 in Japan, but it will most certainly cost more elsewhere.
