Weekly poll results: Poco M4 Pro 5G’s success is contingent on a lower price

The Poco fandom is price sensitive — the €50 price increase on the Poco M4 Pro 5G was not well received by voters in last week’s poll. Sure, the phone improves on the 6-month-old model it replaces, but the Poco M-series shouldn’t go over its price range.

The M4 Pro did, and it competed with the Poco X3 Pro, with the X-series being more expensive than the M. This isn’t the first time a company’s diverse (or crowded) product offering has caused internal strife.

According to the poll and comments, the phone received only a 20% positive vote, which increases to slightly more than 50% with the following condition – the Poco M4 Pro must be purchased at the early bird prices, which are €30 lower than the regular prices, effectively cancelling out the price increase.
So there is still optimism that the phone’s popularity will increase as prices begin to fall. The Poco X3 Pro was launched in March for €250, but it is now available for less than €200.

While success is not out of reach, some users had concerns about the Poco M4 Pro that were unrelated to the pricing. For example, upgrading from a Dimensity 700 to a Dimensity 810 isn’t a significant performance improvement.

There were also concerns regarding the new 50 MP sensor in the main camera, which replaced the previous model’s 48 MP 1/2.0″ sensor. So, we’ve finished our assessment of the M4 Pro, so check it out for an examination of image quality and other performance concerns.
